Have you tried doing this and seeing what happens? So if that User1 logged into 50 PC's I would see 50 Different security user codes in there Redirected Appdata folder on the network drive.Īnybody familiar with roaming Appdata, or have a solution to my problem? Well this wasn't the case, instead the appdata folder kept an individual log of each computer it has logged into and only saved it to that computer individually. But when I tested this, the appdata folder did not sync, with this in place an example of it not working like I though it would went like this -> If User1 went on PC1 and edited the resource file on foxpro, in theory the next PC User1 should log into next should see those same changes with redirecting the appdata folder. Is there another way to accomplish this? I have also tested out redirecting appdata (Roaming) folder because the fox resource file is stored there anyway, and also some other user stuff in there would benefit as well.

I could show each employee how to do this, but its just not viable, alot of them are hassled to do this and wouldn't remember and complain. But you still have to manually point that resource file to the docs folder every time you get on a new pc. I already have Folder redirection in place for Documents folder only place, an option I know I can do it put the resource file in the Docs folder which would be wherever they go via Folder Redirection.

Is there a simpler way to do this then doing a full roaming profile? We do not want to roam the entire users profiles, its just not needed.

The question I am getting to is, we want to be more mobile as in, have employees be able to move around to different computers, and wherever they go, have their Fox Pro settings come with them, basically its just the resource file that needs to come with them, the projects are on a Shared network drive. It is very helpful because sorting some projects we have can sometimes take 10 minutes from scratch. Anyways, those of you familiar with the program should know that there are many separate windows in the programs, and you need to sort those windows around to see them all, all those window placements get saved to a "Resource" File which saves all the windows placements of every project you've ever worked on. They use it to sort and input inventory data.

If anyone out there still uses VFP, I hope this helps.Hoping some of you that read this, are experienced in Visual Fox Pro 9, basically this software is used throughout my company, its how majority of the employees do their jobs. prg file and assign it as a Startup Program to run the taskpane.app and add other commands to allow you full control to the start up behavior of VFP. If you don't click Set As Default button, the Task Pane Manager will run again the next time you start VFP.

Remove ".\microsoft visual foxpro 9\taskpane.app", click OK, then click the Set As Default button.

Highlight Startup Program and click the Modify button. Instead you can remove the Task Pane Manager within VFP via: Tools > Options > File Locations (tab) > Startup Program (scroll down). I googled the issue and only found people making suggestions to change registry settings (completely unnecessary). I noticed the the Task Pane Manager had the close button, but when I clicked it, it turn to disabled but didn't close (this only happens if you try to close the task manager pane before the command window loads). I hadn't open VFP for years and wanted to do a few things today.
